Will the character/world be real life or fantasy?

Definitely fantasy, but it will be relatable to real life in many aspects. For example, magic (which I'm still designing) will be a powerful tool, but will have limitations to keep it balanced and in-line with real life technology (to a degree).

I'm also looking to have a customisable character (like Elder Scrolls), but that idea is not likely to happen right now.

For magic, I could go down several paths (or any combination):

• Special Scrolls (also likely)
  
• Wands (think Harry Potter style)
  
• Staff's (similar to Skyrim staff's, likely to appear)
  
• Magic from hands like Skyrim (unlikely as it looks weird imho)
  

Right now I'm working to setup a framework that allows me to develop a working game and also allows the creation of user generated mods.
