My suggestion is to use Android-like (Cupcake, Donut, ..., Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, Pie) version names for major releases, but using something else instead of sweet foods; for example GTA San Andreas things/weapons/places/vehicles/characters.

My example:

open.mp 2.0 "Burger Shot"
open.mp 3.0 "CJ"
open.mp 4.0 "Desert Eagle"
open.mp 5.0 "East Beach"
